Timber Ridge Ranch is the "Disneyworld" of Off Road Riding Parks in the Midwest. With over 2,500 acres and well over 100 miles of off road trails throughout the Loess Hills area of Western Iowa. The terrain is mostly in the woods and the soil is silt like in areas and hardly ever "hard packed". It is not sandy but it is it's own unique mixture which is only found exclusively in the Loess Hills area. The trails may be used by members with the following vehicles:
There are many members and you will usually see other enthusiasts enjoying the trails on any given weekend. There are permanent campsites available for yearly members and some people have even built cabins on the Ranch. Primitive camping is allowed anywhere on the Ranch and there are several great areas to camp. Running water is available near the "strip" area and some camping areas also have electricity. See the camping section for further information.
All trails are open to travel in both directions so always be prepared for oncoming traffic. It is recommended to operate with a headlight in the "on" position for added visibility and a working tail/brake light is also highly recommended. Safety flags are not required but are recommended. There is no minimum age requirement to enjoy the trails and there are several great areas for kids to learn to ride. Adult supervision is required for all children under the age of 12.
